most expensive shoes in the world

Shoes, glorious shoes! If, like me, you have a bit of a shoe fetish, then prepare to fall in love with some of the beauties in today’s list. All but two of these shoes are creations by world-renowned shoe guru Stuart Weitzman. Whether they’re worth that much money is another question, but hey, if you’re going to cry ‘cos you’re broke, at least you’ll be crying in some gemstone-encrusted designer heels.

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the most expensive shoes in the world.

10 Diamond Dream Stilettos - Stuart Weitzman

Diamond Dream Stilettos

Price: $500,000

These beauties aren't called 'Diamond Dream' for nothing. 1,420 colorless diamonds have gone into the making of these shoes, giving them a weight of more than 30 carats. The shoe afficionado that is Stuart Weitzman made this pair with the help of jewelry kings Kwait, and it really shows.

This pair was worn by Dreamgirls actress Anika Noni Rose at the Oscars back in 2007, instantly making her the envy of the nation's women. They say that diamonds are a girl's best friend, but wearing half a million dollars' worth of them on your feet is taking it to another level!

9 Original Ruby Slippers from The Wizard of Oz

Original Ruby Slippers

Price: $666,000

Dorothy's ruby slippers from the film The Wizard of Oz are such an iconic pair of shoes that it's no surprise that they're on this list. Every girl that has ever worn a pair of sparkly shoes has pretended to click her heels to return home!

The whereabouts of only four pairs of these gorgeous shoes are known today, although several more pairs were made for filming. Despite their name, the shoes which Judy Garland wore were not actually made with real rubies - instead, they were covered in bright red sequins, which were more sparkly on camera. They really are stunning, and pieces of film history, but paying nearly a quarter of a million dollars and not even getting real rubies? Rather you than me.
