Different Eye Colors And What They Say About You
Excuse me - I couldn't help but notice your big, deep, brown eyes. No, I'm not just flirting. If you're reading this post and that statement didn't apply to you, then I'm afraid to say you're in the minority. That's because brown is the most common eye color in the world, which is down to the fact that it's caused by a dominant gene. Brown eyes contain large amounts of melanin, a pigment that also causes skin to darken in the sun. Now it all makes sense why people with darker skin tones also tend to have darker colored eyes! As a result, if you're lucky enough to have brown eyes then you are much less likely to develop melanoma skin cancer than those with less melanin - and consequently those with fairer coloring.
Brown eyes are commonly associated with people who are independent and determined - if this is you then you know what you want and you know how to get it! People with brown eyes also have a softer side, being affectionate, caring, friendly, and very, very loving. Chances are that you're an all-round good egg, with a polite nature, trustworthy heart and the desire to do anything you can to help others. There is a common myth that people with brown eyes are very confident, but that's too much of a sweeping statement. It isn't always true, as eye color doesn't determine confidence - I'm sure we all know at least one person with brown eyes who is as quiet as a mouse! Despite this, people with brown eyes have every reason to be confident, as those big chocolate colored pools are just divine.
Very dark eyes are sometimes mistaken for being black, but truly black eyes only exist in fiction. Those people who do have incredibly dark brown, almost black, eyes share many of the same traits as those with a lighter shade of brown, as well as carrying a more spiritual, mysterious, passionate air.
It is very uncommon to find people with brown eyes in some parts of the world, especially Iceland and other parts of Scandinavia. There, people with brown eyes are in the minority by a long way. Conversely, brown eyes are everywhere in Africa and Asia - in certain areas brown is the only eye color that you'll ever see!
If you have big brown eyes then you take after the likes of Johnny Depp, Beyoncé Knowles and Kim Kardashian. Those three are among the most lusted-after people in the world - who knows, perhaps their secret is having the best eye color!
