10 Famous Flute Players In History

Lori Bell

Lori Bell's style of playing is very fresh and uplifting; she makes playing the flute sound effortless. She has strong jazz tendencies, but she puts a thoroughly modern spin on the genre. The fact that she has been nominated for numerous Grammy Awards and even won a Global Music Award just goes to show how talented she really is. Bell is still alive today, so I'm excited to see what else she has in store for us!

Julius Baker

Commonly known as one of the best flutists the world has ever seen, Julius Baker made a name for himself by playing in countless orchestras across America, including the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. There, he was Principal Flute for an astounding 18 years! Perhaps the most impressive thing about this wonderful flute player is that he actually played on the soundtracks of several well-known and much loved Disney films, including Beauty and the Beast and - my personal favorite - The Little Mermaid. This just goes to show that even classical style flute music can be enjoyed by people of all ages!
